Once you have signed up to Satellite WiFi with our sales team, you will be contacted by our satellite provider, Konnect, to arrange an installation date. The installation date is generally 5-12 days after you have made payment. After the installation, your account will be activated.
Our satellite broadband packages offer different internet speeds at several different prices. To select the right package for you, the number of users, the usage type and level of usage must be considered. We suggest if you have several users in the home, and the internet is constantly being used, you should opt for a high speed package such as the Lite or Plus.
The main difference between satellite broadband from other internet technologies is that it is available everywhere. This is because it does not require any physical connection or close proximity to a network mast. Other than that, the connection is the same as ADSL, Fibre, 4G and 5G internet.
Satellite broadband provides a level of latency, or lag (500-600 milliseconds). Therefore, we do not recommend satellite broadband for online, multiplayer gaming. All other internet uses can be served by satellite broadband.
Satellite broadband is not suitable for online, multiplayer gaming, due to the latency, or lag (500-600 milliseconds). However it can be used for offline gaming.
The one-time activation fee of €50 is fully refundable pre-installation. After your satellite is installed and broadband is activated, you have a 14-day cooling off period in which to decide if you want to continue in your contract. If you choose to cancel your contract, you will lose your £150 installation fee, to cover the cost of installation. However once the modem is returned you will not have to pay your monthly fee and you contract will be cancelled.
